How SilverLily 99.9% Pure Silver Jewelry is made:

Every piece of SilverLily Silver Jewelry is made from precious metal clay, with occasional use of dichroic (fused) glass. The clay is worked, applied to the glass where appropriate, and then fired in a kiln. The clay contains silver mixed with a non-toxic cellular-based organic binder and water. Once fired, the binder is burned away, leaving 99.9% Pure Silver, which is then polished to a fine mirror finish.

In her silver-and-glass designs the clay is sculpted around different types of colored glass. Sometimes it is dichroic (fused) glass, but since she lives by the ocean, some of the pieces will include sea glass that she finds on visits to the beach.

How the SilverLily Artistic Handmade European Glassware is made:

Hand-made European glass is carefully decorated with exquisite silver and pewter filigree designs created by an award-winning English artist and produced by South African craftsmen.

English-born Margaret brings a European flair to her amazing silver and glass designs. Minoring in ceramics at college provided the skills and knowledge necessary to work this unique creative process.

Since college, along with her husband Robin and two children, Dominic and Emma, Margaret has lived in or visited over thirty countries.
