This Tortuga Port Royal Mountain Blend Gourmet Coffee is a light to medium roast of a delicate blend of Jamaican Blue Mountain and Arabica coffee beans. The coffee brews up with a subtle aroma and the result is a light, velvety smooth coffee that is very pleasant to drink.

The complex taste is somewhat of a surprise for such a medium roast, but I think this is because the blending of the beans is done just right. This is a good cup of coffee that needs no cream or sugar.

This Port Royal Mountain variety blend is unflavored, although Tortuga does have several flavored varieties of gourmet coffee.  I will definitely be trying some of them next.

The instructions for brewing this coffee are written for a coffee lover!  You are encouraged to start experimenting by starting with one tablespoon of coffee per cup of water. But I like a big mug of pretty strong coffee that I can “warm up” with more coffee at least once. So, for my drip coffee maker, I used three tablespoons of coffee for about eighteen ounces of water. This was perfect!
