We (at least Michael ) are Long Time, Big Kansas Fans! and we had previously had the pleasure of also seeing Kansas perform at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s  first ever Fall Concert Series last November, which was also Great! but IOHO (in our humble opinion) Kansas‘s performance at the 33rd Annual Miccosukee Everglades Music & Crafts Festival was Even Better!

And we found that All of the proceeds from the 33rd Annual Miccosukee Everglades Music & Crafts Festival are all going to a Very Worthy Cause!, namely the Educational Fund of the Miccosukee children. We hope to soon also be able to share with you all a way in which you may also directly contribute to this Very Worthy Cause of the Educational Fund of the Miccosukee children should you so chose.

After fully Enjoying  the 33rd Annual Miccosukee Everglades Music & Crafts Festival we briefly stopped by the Miccosukee Resort to check it out for our first time, which we found to be Very Nice resort and gaming facility (/casino) and where we may like to stay in our future visits to any of the Miccosukee Tribe locations in South Florida.

Day 5 of the I-ShopTheWorld.com “Tour” of The Caymans , Sunday, July 7th, was unfortunately our last day in Grand Cayman ;( and although we have a Ton of Things to catch up on and get done as soon as possible once we get back home, we really don’t want to leave this Beautiful Island Paradise, you know?

Before we had to leave we had the opportunity to “squeeze in” one last Excursion the morning of our last day.

We went on a snorkeling Excursion to two (2) different sites with Resort Sports Ltd.

The first site was over the Wreck of the Cali, an old freighter that sunk in the 1940’s right beside George Town Harbor and now lies in pieces in barely 20 ft. of water is now home to an “infant” growing reef and home to a wide variety of corals, sponges and tropical fish.  The wreck site itself was very interesting, particularly seeing how Mother Nature is transforming this metal freighter slowly into a coral reef.

The second site over which we snorkeled was a reef called Cheese Burger Reef, due to its proximity to a local landmark found there, namely it’s across from the Burger King along the George Town Harbor.   Cheese Burger Reef is spread out over 3 to 4 acres underwater perforated with many deep crevices and “caves”.  Cheese Burger Reef is purported to hold some of the most vibrant colors and provide the most beautiful snorkeling in Grand Cayman !  The crew of our ship were throwing buns in the water to feed the fish, who seem to know that the appearance of the ship merited “lunch”! as we were snorkeling amongst huge schools of a wide variety of hungrily feeding tropical fish!

The Resort Sports Ltd captain, crew and videographer and were Very Friendly, Fun and helpful and we had a Great Time!

Overall, this was a Very Nice snorkeling trip that we would Highly Recommend for anyone visiting Grand Cayman!

Hopefully, we may be able to also get the DVD of our snorkeling trip converted to one or more YouTube (and/or other format) videos and get some of the pictures from our trip prepared so that we may also share all of these with you all here soon!

Day 4 of the I-ShopTheWorld.com “Tour” of The Caymans, Saturday, July 6th, finally afforded us the opportunity of a day of almost total rest and relaxation (R & R) on the beach! …

With just a few brief follow up meetings with our new Associates / Representatives in The Caymans and some further research in to additional Unique Native Cayman Products which we may work together to secure a supplier so that we may also make these additional Unique Native Products available to You All through I-ShopTheWorld.com as soon as possible!

And Go Figure! …

Although this was just a “beach / rest” day … low and behold Sonya gets to talking to and attempting to help out a group of gentlemen snorkeling off the beach and ends up befriending them, as she does with almost everyone she meets, and almost everyone at the resort, including all the guests and all the staff within the first day we stay anywhere and …

We find out that these gentlemen are there in Grand Cayman building Very High End Condos and one of them, David, has previously also lived and worked in Hawaii for a year and therefore has plenty of contacts there with Local Native Artisans who craft Hawaiian and Polynesian Arts and Crafts. So, we hope to also soon be able to get in contact with one for more Associates in Hawaii to be able to also offer You All Kinds of Unique Native Hawaiian and Polynesian Arts and Crafts through I-ShopTheWorld.com in the near future!

We again had a nice candlelight dinner at the resort overlooking the beach and ocean surf.

Finally, we took a ten (10) minute stroll up the beach to the Royal Palm’s Reef Grill which has a large deck with a bandstand and dance floor.  The band played some popular lively Caribbean music including some Reggae a’la Bob Marley and other popular Rock’n’Roll “Oldies”.

Day 3 of the I-ShopTheWorld.com Tour in Grand Cayman ended with a moonlit stroll back down the beach to our resort.

Day 2 of the I-ShopTheWorld.com “Tour” of The Caymans , Thursday, July 4th, consisted of a very nice breakfast overlooking the beach, an afternoon enjoying the warm tropical sun B-) beautiful white sand beach and turquoise waters here along Seven Mile Beach of Grand Cayman island.

Sonya was busy actively and successfully recruiting locally I-ShopTheWorld.com Associates/Representatives for The Caymans, in addition to acquiring more referrals for potential Associates in additional countries, like The Philippines !

So it looks like we will have already also secured an Associate here in The Caymans to begin handling Worldwide orders of the Tortuga Rum Cakes, as well as the other Local Native Arts and Crafts, spices, etc. local here to Grand Cayman .  We also received a recommendation from our horseback riding guide (/stable owner) Noland (more about the horseback riding trip below ) for yam and cassava cakes also produced here in Grand Cayman for which we will also be seeking contact with a supplier here so we may also begin to offer You All these tasty yam and cassava cakes from Grand Cayman as soon as possible too!

We were then picked up from our resort by Noland (the owner of Coral Stone Stables ) for our evening horseback riding excursion.  After a pleasant drive across the island of Grand Cayman we arrived at Coral Stone Stables and Noland promptly saddled up Reality for Sonya and Babyface for Michael and Jesse for himself.  We meandered about for approximately two (2) hours on the trails under the beautiful multi-colored flowering poinsettia trees  and amidst the calls of the local parrots.  The apex of our horseback riding trip culminated with a ride along the clean sandy beach watching the waves breaking off of the offshore reef and amidst the numerous pieces of coral that had washed ashore along the protected marine park aside which we rode.

Noland was a wonderful guide and filled us in on much of the history, recent and current happenings in Grand Cayman as well as teaching us much about the local flora and fauna.

All of the horses we saw at Coral Stone Stables all appeared to be in good shape and well cared for, which is an important factor to us!

We would have to say that this was probably the nicest horseback riding excursion we have experienced to date in our travels

We Highly Recommend that Anyone traveling to Grand Cayman interested in a horseback riding excursion, contact Noland at Coral Stone Stables.  They have morning and evening rides for riders of all experiences levels, from beginners to experienced riders.  They also offer a “swim the horses” ride where you ride / “swim with” your horse straight out into the ocean surf out to the offshore reef and back.  Sounds like a Blast! And like something we will just have to do next time we visit Grand Cayman!

Upon returning to our resort, we again enjoyed a wonderful candlelight dinner listening to the ocean waves lap on the beach and watching some (small) fireworks that some other American guests must have brought with them to celebrate the 4th of July (/Independence Day) while on their vacation here in Grand Cayman!

Tomorrow, July 5th we will be meeting with our new local I-ShopTheWorld.com Associate here in Grand Cayman, sampling many of the wonderful different flavors of Tortuga Rum Cakes and identifying other Unique Native Products local to The Caymans which we may wish to share with The World through I-ShopTheWorld.com

We arrived safely and soundly in Grand Cayman after a short and uneventful flight from Miami and a restful and pleasant night at the La Quinta hotel near the Miami International airport (MIA).

We were promptly picked up at the Grand Cayman airport by our transfer service to our resort, Tropical Tours, who provided us with a nice commentary on the areas of Grand Cayman airport to our resort.  On our trip from the airport we passed the Tortuga Rum Company home of Tortuga Rum Cakes, Yumm!   (Note to Ourselves – get I-ShopTheWorld.com“hooked up” with an Associate here in Grand Cayman to offer Tortuga Rum Cakes Direct to The World! )

For those of you that may not already know this … since the Cayman Islands is part of the British West Indies and therefore formerly under British rule, and called the Tortugas due to the many turtles they found here, they all drive on the left-hand side of the road, like they also do in the Bahamas, rather than on the right-hand-side of the road as we are used to in the United States, you know?  We always find this interesting and a little “disconcerting” when riding around on “formerly British islands” and this is one of the reasons we don’t generally drive ourselves when we travel, you know?   Nor do we recommend others drive for themselves when traveling in an unfamiliar place either, you know?

Sorry, but I digress, so …

Back to our arrival in Grand Cayman …

We arrived at the resort around 5 PM local time and where promptly greeted with Elizabeth, the receptionist’s, inviting smile and warm welcome! Elizabeth from Honduras, professionally informed us of, and answered all of our questions regarding, all of the amenities and events here at the resort and we were escorted to our room.  The room is clean and acceptable with all the necessary amenities if a bit small and our room does not have a beach view ;(,

but …

In our opinion, the hotel/resort room when you are on “vacation” is merely just a place to sleep, and we generally don’t spend much of our waking time in our room, so …

We dropped off our luggage in the room and promptly strolled out to the resort beach front on Seven Mile Beach.

What a Beautiful Beach! B-) with white fine grained sand and very placid waters stretching for miles and miles!

After a brief stroll on the white sand beach, we took a seat at the nice large beach bar, right off the beach and made friends with Donovan, the bartender from Jamaica, and some of the other guests! After sampling the local beer = Caybrew and what Donovan says is the best local rums = Blackbeard, it was time for dinner.  We had awonderful dinner of grilled ribs, chicken and king fish with all the “fixins” at a candlelit table overlooking the beach and bay as the sun set! B-)

Our first day of our trip to The Caymans has been Very Productive! …

Our logo shirts that we had rush ordered from Palm Prints in Melbourne, FL were Popular seemed to attract a lot of attention and some inquiries about I-ShopTheWorld.com!

We have already met and established initially relationships for potential I-ShopTheWorld.com  Associates / Representatives with each of the following individuals and the counties in which they are from and/or have family and friends:

Elizabeth – the desk clerk at the La Quinta with family and friends in Cuba
Gabriela – from and with family and friends in Venezuela and currently studying at the university in Panama.
Elaine – we met at the Grand Cayman airport from Jamaica
Elizabeth – the receptionist at the resort from Honduras.
The numerous staff members here at the resort from Jamaica

And we are sure we will meet many, many more nice people from all over the world in the days to come!

Tomorrow, July 4th we hope to be meeting with the Activities Director here at the resort and arranging our tours and excursions for our trip.
